Opportunities for Otsego’s Director of Crisis Intervention Services, William Rivera, has been appointed to serve a three year term on the New York State Office of Victim Services(OVS) Advisory Council.

The purpose of the OVS Advisory Council is to assist the state office in formulating policies that directly affect crime victims and to provide recommendations to the director to improve the delivery of services to victims by the office.The eighteen member council consists of professionals from all regions across New York State who have extensive knowledge and experience on the problems, needs and treatment of victims.

William Rivera has served as Crisis Intervention Director since 2014, overseeing both Opportunities for Otsego’s Violence Intervention Program and Emergency Housing Assistance Program.  Prior, Mr. Rivera served as Crime Victims Advocate through the Violence Intervention Program.
