The original rate increases for electricity and gas delivery were supposed to take effect last month but have been delayed until October due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Under the three-year rate agreement, NYSEG is increasing the rate for delivery for electric service by .46% in the first year and 9.1% for years two and three while the gas delivery rate won’t go up until years two and three.  The gas business delivery increase will be 0.8% in the second year and 1.6% in the third year. Rate increases and investment plans have also been laid out by Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E).
