With only about a week before school begins, Norwich Police Chief Joseph Angelino said his officers will be at all city schools the first couple of days to help avoid any dangerous situations.

Drivers in a hurry to get to work are sometimes inattentive to the buses or children crossing streets, making crossing guards essential.

Chief Angelino says their biggest problem is parking at city schools a half hour before school, which creates problems. He says the reason is that a lot more kids are given rides to school nowadays.
