New York State Senator Thomas Libous of Binghamton is telling the New York Post the study into hydrofracking for natural gas in the state should be complete before the end of the year.

The Republican says he hopes Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo will call for the final decision before January first.

However, officials with the Governor's office say a decision probably won't be made before mid-January at the earliest.
