The Albany Times Union reports the FBI raided the Binghamton home of New York State Senator Thomas Libous and his wife, Frances on August 8.

Last month, the Republican Senator was indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of making a false statement in an alleged influence pedaling investigation.

It was alleged that Libous used his influence to get his son, Matthew a job with a New York City law firm.

Matthew Libous was indicted on six counts involving tax filings.

According to the report dealing with the August 8 incident, a computer and some records were supposedly removed from the house.

The report said the raid was a joint action between the FBI and New York Attorney General’s office.

Sources speaking to the news paper insisted on remaining anonymous.
