Josh Rawitch Named New Head of Baseball Hall of Fame

Heading into the summer months, when the National Baseball Hall  of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown is looking for a return of big crowds, it sees like the perfect time to introduce the new President of the Hall.

Jane Forbes Clark, Chairman of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, today announced that Josh Rawitch has been named President of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. Rawitch will begin serving in that capacity on September 9. Until that date, Jeff Idelson will continue in his current role as Interim President, which he has held since returning to the Hall of Fame on May 15.

Rawitch has a long history with the sport and has spent nearly 30 years working for the Arizona Diamondbacks.   His last position with them was Vice-President of Content and Communications, a position he held for six years.  He also worked with the Los Angeles Dodgers for a number of years.

“On behalf of our Board of Directors, I am delighted to welcome Josh as the Hall of Fame’s next President, and to welcome him and his family to Cooperstown,” said Clark. “Josh brings to the Hall of Fame a wealth of expertise from his many years representing the game as a respected baseball executive. We are very much looking forward to his Presidency at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.”

Rawitch becomes the eighth president in the 82-year history of the organization, following Stephen C. Clark, Sr., founder of the Hall of Fame and grandfather of current Chairman, Jane Forbes Clark, Paul Kerr, Edward W. Stack, Donald C. Marr Jr., Dale A. Petroskey, Jeff Idelson and Tim Mead, who in April announced he was stepping down from the role.
