We have all been in this situation.  We try and get an item, or change, or a receipt out of a vending machine but nothing happens.  Usually we swear under our breath, maybe give the machine a smack, or at least go and tell a store clerk.  But the New York State Police at Troop C in Sidney said that a customer took his frustrations out in a different way while shopping at a Unadilla store.

On September 4, 2021, New York State Police at Sidney arrested Jeremy B. Barcoski, age 45 of Lincoln Park, NJ for the misdemeanor of Petit Larceny.

Troopers were dispatched to a report of man who stole items from Speedway on State Route 8 in Unadilla and left in a vehicle.  Troopers were able to locate the described vehicle and Barcoski driving.

After an investigation, troopers learned that Barcoski used a Lottery machine inside the store and it didn’t give him back the appropriate change, so he stole items from the store.

Barcoski was arrested and transported to the New York State Police barracks in Sidney for processing.  He was released on an appearance ticket to the Unadilla Town Court on October 18, 2021.

So remember what you were told when you were a frustrated kid.  Count to ten, take a deep breath, or face the consequences.
