Happy Birthday to Lizzie Borden!

It was the crime of the year in 1882 and the trial of the year long before Court TV.  Lizzie Borden (1860-19270 was tried and acquitted for the axe murders of her father and stepmother.

The murders took place in Fall River, Massachusetts.  After she was acquitted Lizzie decided to stay put and lived out the rest of her life in the city.  She was shunned by the general public until she died.

Today, Lizzie Borden's "murder house" is a relaxing and beautiful bed and breakfast!  Believe it or not!  Would you stay over night here?  Many do. staying in the bedrooms of the doomed Andrew and Abby Borden, the murder victims.  The house also has a museum which tells the story of this famous, grisly location.

I love the slogan for the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast.

"Where guests are treated like family."  YIKES!
