I think New Hampshire State Senator Stella Tremblay is crazy.  Maybe even dangerous.

She is the wingnut who opined that the Boston Marathon bombing was a conspiracy of undertaken by the U.S. government.  Kind of like a "Black Ops" maneuver against all the runners and their families and friends watching from the sidelines.  This is the kind of paranoia that makes crazy people even crazier, and sane people wary.  She has been roundly derided for her views by nearly everyone on the planet, including almost all of her Republican colleagues.  So much for that.

Now Ms. Tremblay doubles down on her charges that it is the U.S. government who conspired to kill three and injure more than 200 on Patriots Day 2013 in Boston by saying that one of the most visible heroes of the day was merely an actor on the stage.  I am speaking of Jeff Bauman, the young man who had his two legs blown off and was seen around the world being wheeled away from the carnage while a "cowboy hatted Good Samaritan"  literally held his life in his hands by closing the last artery hanging from Jeff's torso.  I don't need to put that grisly photo up.  We will never forget Jeff's face from that day.  When Jeff woke up at the hospital the very first thing he did was describe the two bombers he saw just before the explosion.  Cops called him a real hero.

Not wacky Ms. Tremblay.  The Republican legislator believes that Jeff Bauman, who had just had both of his legs ripped off, was a prop, an actor.  That he was playing a role.  "That he was not in pain. That he was not in shock.  How come he was not screaming in agony?" Her loony and insensitive remarks almost defy belief.

Jeff Bauman's family was stunned.  His step-mom, Csilla Bauman, told the Concord Monitor for “a representative of our state to say that, to doubt people such as myself, who’s a citizen of this state just as she is, without even calling, questioning, asking anything about our son, I think it’s deplorable.”  Rep. Tremblay has offered an apology of sorts to the family ( the usual "if I have offended anybody") and even suggested that she might visit Jeff in rehab or at his home.  I am sure she will bring a cake, or something.

Bauman's family, like almost every other person with any brain at all, wonders why if Rep. Tremblay assumed Jeff had no legs before the Boston Marathon bombing, why didn't she just pick up the phone and call the Bauman family? I mean, it would even have been a local call.

In my opinion, GOP New Hampshire State Representative Stella Tremblay deserves a special place in the Politician's Hall of Shame for even suggesting that Jeff was not a victim of the bombing, that he did not lose his legs in the blast.  She is cruel fool who is deeply paranoid and I believe a total embarrassment to the good people of New Hampshire.

Oh, and may I suggest, to you, Ms. Tremblay, if you ever, ever need to know what a real hero looks like you should take a minute and look at this video.
