Actor George Burns established many records during his century on earth.  Famed for his earliest beginnings in vaudeville, radio, motion pictures and then television he truly was a man of many talents.   His partnership with his wife, Gracie Allen, was the stuff that legends are made out of.

He was 79 years old when he scored an Academy Award nomination for his role in the movie "The Sunshine Boys."   At age 81 he reaped acclaim for his starring role in the film "Oh, God!"  He of course played the title character.

While even Burns himself would admit that he really had no singing talent, he could deliver a song with a unique and poignant style.  Witness the fact that he scored a Top 15 hit, "I Wish I Was 18 Again" in March of 1980.  He was 84 years old at the time making him the oldest person ever to record a Top 40 hit record.

He was an exceptional entertainer.  He passed away in 1996 at the age of 100.
