Billy Graham once called him "my favorite singer of all time."  George Beverly Shea, he of the deep reverberating bass voice, passed away at the age of 104 years old today.

Shea first began singing at the Billy Graham Crusades in 1947 and stayed with it until he retired fifty years later.  In 2010 he received the Lifetime Grammy Award along with Dolly Parton and Julie Andres.  Shea has been referred to as the first great international gospel singing star.
