Free Online Job Training for COVID-Displaced New York Workers

Governor Andrew Cuomo says a new online training platform is available to help people unemployed and underemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in New York to learn new skills, earn certificates and advance their careers at no cost.

The new tool offered by the state labor department lists close to four-thousand courses available through a partnership with the learning platform “Coursera” that can be accessed free.

Topics range from mechanical engineering to social media marketing and guidance for entrepreneurs.

Cuomo says the state will also partner with businesses based in New York to encourage their employees to use the free learning opportunities that can also be applied in their current jobs.
