Now that we are well into the school year, Niche.com has come out with the 2020 ranking of the 50 safest school districts in America.  From that list, newyorkupstate.com filtered the top 50 safest Upstate New York schools.  Niche.com ranks the safest school districts in America every year based on data from school districts on student suspensions, expulsions, absenteeism and even school-related arrests.

The following schools in our local area of Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties made the top 50 list:

#49 Milford Central School District, Otsego County

Students: 394

In-school suspensions: 13 (3.1%)
Out-of-school suspensions: 8 (1.9%)

#27 Delaware Academy Central School District at Delhi, Delaware County
