Olivia deHavilland is 97 and has lived in Paris for fifty years.  But her star shown brilliantly on American movie screens for four decades.

The actress, who is the one of the oldest living acting Oscar winners, won the top award twice.  She won her first acting Oscar in 1946 for "To Each His Own" and again in 1949 for "The Heiress."  She is best remembered however for her role in "Gone With the Wind" as the suffering sibling Melanie Hamilton.  She is the last surviving major cast member from this classic film.  She was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Award for this role but lost.

In one of Hollywood's quirkiest factoids, deHavilland's real life sister, actress Joan Fontaine, also won an Oscar for her role in 1941's "Suspicion."  She is also still alive and is 95 years old.  They are the only siblings to ever each win a major acting Academy Award.

The two sisters had a falling out years ago and haven't spoken to each other since 1975.

Here is a rare clip of Olivia deHavilland winning her Oscar.
