COVID-19 Numbers Lowest Since Early Dec.; Tri-County And NYS Update
According to Governor Cuomo’s Office, New York State’s 7-day average COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped to 4.38 percent, its lowest since December 1. Statewide positivity stands at 5.12%. Local daily new coronavirus cases continue on a downward trend as well. The Otsego County Department of Health reported yesterday (2/9) that there were 15 new confirmed cases with 17 people currently hospitalized with complications from the virus. There are currently 98 known active cases in the county with a total of 43 COVID-19 related deaths. The Health Dept. has a COVID-19 dashboard with daily updates for the latest information.
Delaware County Health officials have an update from yesterday (2/9), reporting 9 new cases yesterday. There are 96 active and there are 21 people hospitalized. In Chenango County, the health department reported new COVID-19 stats for 2/9 on their facebook page. At that time, the health department was reporting 107 active cases, 28 hospitalizations related to the virus, and the total number of deaths related to COVID-19 complications are currently at 48.
