At the Monday meeting of the State Board of Regents, Regents signed off on extensive amendments to the state's new teacher evaluation system. After 4 hours there was so much confusion on the issue that even top teachers and union officials had trouble dissecting exactly what board members voted on.  What did emerge from the meeting was that no one present at the meeting was happy with the complex new evaluation system that lawmakers were forced to put in the state budget. It was also clear that further changes will be made under the new incoming Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia
