He was one of the very first TV superstars.  Along with Milton Berle, Lucille Ball, Jackie Gleason and Ed Sullivan, the name Sid Caeser was instrumental in selling television sets from coast to coast.  His "Your Show of Shows" was the inspiration for two generations of comic actors and stand up comedians.

Imogene Coca was his "second banana" along with a host of zany and little known actors. Woody Allen and Mel Brooks were among the shows writers.

Sid Caeser was 91.
