She was a very, very funny lady.

Mary Grace Canfield was a character actress in dozens of movies, Broadway shows and television programs over the years.  She gained TV immortality with more than 45 appearances on "Green Acres" as the clumsy, stony faced handyman (handywoman?) with the man's name...Ralph.

Canfield also appeared on the Andy Griffith Show where, as Thelma Lou's cousin, she was arranged to have a blind date with Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors).

She was a physical sight gag and her fellow actors commended her for her precise comic timing.  Whenever she walked on to the television screen you knew a laugh could not be far behind.

R.I.P Mary Grace Canfield, who was born in Pittsford, a suburb of Rochester.
