Federal prosecutors say 35-year-old Matthew Bormann admitted he had over 3,500 images of child porn and video files on his device, which he was prohibited from possessing under his parole conditions, during the session with his U.S. Probation Officer in March.

Bormann was on supervised release following a 2014 conviction of possessing child pornography. He had been sentenced to three years in prison followed by probation in August of 2015 in that case.

In addition to pleading guilty to possessing child porn in this latest case, Bormann also pleaded guilty to violating the terms of his supervised release.

He faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and another probation term of five years to life.
