Breaking News: Oneonta Fires New City Manager Mike Murphy.

The Oneonta Common Council voted tonight 5-2, with one abstention, to suspend newly hired City Manager Mike Murphy after just 10-months on the job and to pay him $27,000 three months severance pay.

Those voting to suspend Murphy were Mike Lynch, Larry Malone, Madolyn Palmer, Maureen Hennessy and Acting Mayor Russ Southard.

Those voting to keep the City Manager were Chip Holmes and Councliman Bob Brozowski, who left the meeting in protest.  Robert Rissberger abstained.
