Autopsies are ruling the deaths of two people found dead outside a home in Oneonta at around 8:30 a.m. March 8 a murder/suicide.

New York State Police say the bodies of 44 year old Tifanne Wells and 51 year old George Jones were found at the home on County Highway 47 in the Town of Oneonta after the Otsego County Dispatch Center received a 911 call requesting authorities to check on the welfare of people at the home.

Investigators say it appears Jones shot Wells two times before turning the gun on himself.

Authorities say they believe the incident may have occurred Saturday night but the bodies weren't discovered until the following morning.

Police are still looking into the events that led up to the shootings.
