As our teenagers grow older grumblings about "not having a car" start to become more pronounced around our house.  It got me to thinking about what a big deal your first car really is.

Mine was a 1963 blue Dodge Dart.  It had all the hallmarks of the cars of that day: a long slippery bench seat in the front, a cigarette lighter, wing windows, AM radio, high beam knob on the floor, etc.  It cost me $600 to buy in 1968.  I loved that old car.
