Last week I posed this question to my listeners and readers:  "Did you grow up in a house where no turkey was served at Thanksgiving?"

That was the way it was when I was a kid.  It was always pasta!  Well, I was sure surprised at how many others agreed that they too grew up in "non-turkey" homes. Some Polish, some Mexican, but overwhelmingly I heard from the Italians in my audiences who said it was pasta, pasta and more pasta on Thanksgiving Day.

As you all know I work on Thanksgiving day.  We celebrate at my wife's parents on Friday after Thanking.  They live in the mountains around Hartwick, NY.  We went out there around 2 pm on Friday and after the usual big hugs and hellos in the foyer I walked in to the living room and looked over at the wood stove.  And there it was (see photo above)!

The tradition still holds!

Mangia (gobble, gobble, gobble....)!
