The Red Skelton was a hugely popular entertainer who scored on radio, in movies and most famously on television.

The Red Skelton Variety Show was a TV staple for twenty years, running more than 600 episodes.  The show featured skits, guest stars , monologues and a pageant of Red's famous characters:  Klem Kadiddlehopper, Deadeye, Freddie the Freeloader and many others.  His guest stars were the traditional sitcom and movie celebrities of the day.  One act, however, seemed to really go outside the box.  The Rolling Stones made their American TV debut on Red's show in 1965.

Red Skelton, a beloved presence on TV for twenty years, was elected to the Television Hall of Fame in 1989.

Thanks for the memories, Red.  And may God bless......
