From 1958 to 1964 Garry Moore hosted one of television's most popular variety shows.  His sidekick was Durwood Kirby.

The show featured skits, musical guests and running gags.  Moore's trademarks were his flat top or buzz cut hair, and his bow tie.  Perhaps the show is most famously remembered for introducing Carol Burnett to the national audience.  Alan King and Jonathan Winters also made some of their earliest television appearances on the Moore show.

Garry Moore was also one of TV's most prolific game show hosts. "From I've Got a Secret" to "To Tell the Truth" and many others, Moore was a familiar sight on television for more than 40 years.  TIME magazine named him one of the 15 greatest TV game show hosts of all time/

Garry Moore died in 1993 at the age of 78.

Take a look at this great clip.  A young Robert Goulet, a VERY young Barbra Streisand and an unknown Carol Burnett.  This is great.

How many remember The Garry Moore Show?
