In my World War II file this morning I told the story of the USS Laffey, the "Ship That Wouldn't Die."  It is an incredible, goose bump inducing tale of courage and heroism.

At the end of my story I was surprised that this legendary warship was still afloat.  It is the last destroyer of its type still around from World War II.  It is based at Patriot's Point, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.  Thousands visit it each year.

Much to my surprise I was also excited to see the the famous aircraft carrier the USS Yorktown is also there.  As well as several other ships.

This looks like a place right up my alley, and I have just know officially put it on my Big Chuck's Bucket List.

Have you ever been to Patriot's Point/
