I don't think I have ever even stepped foot into the state of Rhode Island.

The Cliff Walk in Newport is a 3.5 mile pedestrian path that takes the wanderer past some of the most spectacular and ostentatious Gilded Age mansions in America.  I have always wanted to experience this walk.

Among the homes you can "get up close and personal with" are the Astor's Beechwood, the Vanderbilt's two stunners Marble House and The Breakers, and Rough Point, built by the Goelet family for nearly 5-million dollars in 1892 money!

I can't wait to do this sometime.  Have you experienced the Cliff Walk?
