Richard Chamberlain was a significant presence on television for more than three decades.

In 1961, after years of appearing in minor movie roles, America was introduced to this handsome blue eyed, blonde star as young Dr. Kildare in the TV series co-starring film legend Raymond Massey.  He stayed with this role until 1966 and it made him a national star (and a teen idol).

Later, Chamberlain starred in several popular shows including two huge movie mini-series, Shogun (1980) and The Thorn Birds (1983).  He was also the first actor to portray the action hero Jason Bourne in the television movie The Bourne Identity (1988).

Richard Chamberlain is now 79 years old.
