Singing legend Eydie Gorme, who scored big as both a solo act and as one half of the most successful Las Vegas duo of them all, has died after a brief illness.  She was 84.

Gorme and her husband, Steve Lawrence, were a fifty year staple on the Vegas strip.  Both had successful solo careers.  They earned a Grammy Award for Best Duo Album in 1960 for "We Got Us."  Each had a number one record on their own.  Gorme's was "Blame it on the Bossa Nova" in 1963.

She retired from show business in 2009.  Her husband continues to perform as a solo act.
