These gadgets surfaced in the mid-1960s.

The Flashcube had 4 flashbulbs in a little housing that attached to your Instamatic camera, and revolved so you could take 4 images in quick succession.  Even though it was a really basic concept, the Flashcube opened the door to later developments which marched right up to the digital era.  Soon the Flashbar and Flipflash came on the scene.

The cubes would get gray and crinkled when the bulbs were all fired off, and would be VERY hot to the touch.

Anybody else remember this Baby Boomer innovation?
