From 1959 to 1963 "Dennis the Menace" held the coveted position as the lead in to the Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday nights.

The show was the TV version of the popular comic strip by Hank Ketchum.  The shows two sole sponsors were Kelloggs cereal and Skippy peanut butter.  Jay North (Dennis) was only 8 years old when he was cast as the star of the show.  Herbert Anderson was the father and the neighbors, the Wilsons,  were played by Joe Kearns and Sylvia Field.

Gloria Henry is one of just two members of the cast still alive today.  Jay North is now 61 years old.  Gloria Henry, who played Dennis' mother, is now 91 years old!  She was a featured player in a number of "B" movies before she was picked to co-star in this legendary sitcom.  Her great claim to fame is as Mrs. Mitchell on the sitcom, but she appeared well into her 70s as a character actress in many other shows, including as an art-patron in a couple of "Dallas" episodes.
