A little rubber ball and a bunch of 6-pointed "knucklebones".  That's it.  And voila!  You have a game that has been around for centuries.  Jacks.

The game has been played by children for millenniums.  Recently we find the game being played in urban areas where green spaces are hard to come by.  There are all kinds of "jacks" variations (challenges) you can play including No Clicks, Little Jingles and Through the Arch.  How many hours did you spend picking up "onesie" then "twosie" and on and on?

Oh, and how long has the game been played?  Well here is a statue that was uncovered recently.  It depicts two young women playing a game of jacks in Ancient Rome!
