KNOX, N.Y. (AP) — An upstate New York man has been arrested after allegedly setting fire to his home and threatening to shoot responding authorities.

Investigators say the man set fire to the home in Knox outside Albany sometime Wednesday and threatened to harm any firefighters or police who responded.

The suspect, who has not been identified, also reportedly downed trees to block access to the home. He was taken into custody Thursday morning without incident.

Officials say at least one structure on the property was substantially damaged because firefighters couldn't properly battle the blaze.

State police say they will release more details as their investigation progresses.

Just over a year ago, two firefighters were killed by a sniper when they responded to a fire the man set in the Rochester suburb of Webster.
