2 Dead, 7 Injured in Early Morning Car Accident in Oxford

New York State Police at Norwich determined a two-car fatal accident in Oxford occurred when a 2000 Ford Focus crossed the center line and struck a full 2002 Dodge Caravan around 1:42 a.m. Sunday morning.

The driver of the Ford Focus, 15-year-old Brandy L. Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene. Oxford resident David C. Clark, the driver of the Dodge, was transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

A passenger from the Ford Focus and six from the Dodge Caravan were transported to local hospitals and treated for unspecified injuries.

State Police are continuing to investigate.
