ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued flood watches and warnings and winter weather advisories for central New York as a storm brings heavy rain, along with snow and ice through parts of the state.

A flood watch was in effect through Sunday evening and into Monday morning in some places with flooding possible in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Several inches of snow along with sleet and freezing rain was forecast across central New York. Wind gusts of up to 30 mph were possible.

There were flood warnings in effect for the Tioughnigoa River in Cortland County and the Chenango River in Chenango County. Minor flooding was forecast and the National Weather Service warns drivers not to drive over flooded roads or bridges.
