Spencer Woman Accused of Stealing from Fire Department

On Thursday, April 24th, the New York State Police in Owego arrested Jennifer N. Grier, 33, of Spencer for grand larceny 3rd degree, a felony.

Investigation revealed that Grier had been the treasurer for the Spencer Volunteer Fire Department since 2004 and it is alleged that during the summer of 2011, Grier began taking money from the department for personal use. Grier was accused of stealing more than $3,000. Additional bank records are being obtained and the investigation is continuing.

She will appear in the Town of Spencer Court on May 14th.
