SUNY Oneonta is one of ten host campuses for Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry recitation contest for high school students.

The State University of New York is partnering with the Teachers & Writers Collaborative, National Endowment for the Arts, and New York State Council on the Arts to facilitate New York State’s Poetry Out Loud contest.

Similar competitions will be held across the country, with the winner from each state advancing to the national finals in Washington, D.C.

SUNY Oneonta will host the Mohawk Valley region Poetry Out Loud competition from 6 to 8 pm tonight in the Hunt Union ballroom.

The event is free and open to the public.
