ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) State lawmakers will be releasing a report on heroin and opioid addiction after conducting statewide forums on the subject.

The Senate's Joint Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction will be releasing a report today on heroin's rise in New York and make recommendations to curb use.

Members of the Republican conference and the Independent Democratic Conference, a group of five Democrats who control the Senate with the Republicans have held 18 public forums and are unveiling their suggestions alongside substance abuse experts.
