During the COVID-19 crisis, the Unadilla Drive-In, located on Route 7, just outside of Unadilla, may not be able to show movies this summer due to new movie releases being delayed but they may find themselves busy throughout the summer in a very different way.

According to AllOTSEGO, drive-in Manager Spencer Wilson, has been contacted by many schools in the region with requests to hold graduation ceremonies. Graduation speeches could be broadcast via the drive-in's radio station and slide shows of students could be displayed on the big screen.

It certainly has the ring of a perfect way to hold a graduation while making sure social distancing rules are followed. The main hiccup of course is the current state mandate of non-essential businesses being closed and that includes movie theaters. Wilson is currently working with school districts on the logistics involved in holding graduations that would comply with current state rules.
