Last Friday we reported that Governor Andrew Cuomo was allowing (as part of Phase 2 reopening) schools to have outdoor drive-in and drive-thru graduations. The Governor has updated that ruling since then.

In a press conference Sunday, Cuomo said, "We're going to allow socially distanced graduations outdoors with up to 150 people total beginning June 26th. That's when the schools start to graduate, high schools, and it gives us a couple of weeks between now and then." That is subject to change of course because Cuomo states that this is "subject to any outbreaks or significant changes in the metrics".

This would open up for more options for smaller schools but schools with larger populations are still very limited as to what they can do. To get up to date on the latest New York State reopening mandates visit www.governor.ny.gov.
