An army of volunteers manned the food distribution tables at the Sidney Fire Department headquarters on River Street on Monday for the first ever mass food distribution in Sidney.  The event was organized by the Catholic Charities of Delaware, Otsego and Schoharie Counties, the Sidney United Way and the Salvation Army.

Under sunny skies and with temperatures climbing in the 80s, cars snaked all along River Street waiting patiently for their food allotment.  It is estimated that 9 tons of food were distributed to over 1,000 attendees.
