In a recent interview with Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig, he told us that many Oneontans are concerned regarding the return of approximately 7000 college students to the city. With that in mind, SUNY Oneonta is taking proactive measures to make sure students commit to certain actions that would slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep not just the college community safe from the virus, but the community at large safe as well.

College President Barbara Jean Morris says, “These actions incorporate federal, state and local directives, department of health guidelines and expert advice from the college’s public health advisors. We believe they represent the best practices for a successful return to college.”

The college sent out a message to its incoming students yesterday, outlining “actions for safety” that are part of the college's Fall 2020 Re-start Plan.
