The Southern Tier Regional Economic Development Council has awarded over $91 million for various projects throughout the southern tier region. State Senator Tom Libous says the money will be divided up into individual projects.

"It's going to help us to create job and career opportunities in upstate New York," he said. "We worked very hard on creating a comprehensive plan to do that. I think the sectors we worked in, such has agriculture and high technologies were very important and critical to receiving that money."

Over the next few weeks the approved projects will be announced for Chenango County.
