Seward Pushes for Review of Route 8 Traffic Near Chobani

State Senator James Seward has announced his support for a full New York State Department of Transportation study of traffic safety issues along State Route 8 in Chenango County approaching the Chobani yogurt plant.

Senator Seward has been made aware of a recent spike in truck traffic and several related accidents along Route 8 near the Chobani plant and has sent a letter to DOT Commissioner Joan McDonald asking for a thorough review of traffic patterns on Route 8 between South New Berlin and South Edmeston.

Seward is scheduled to meet today with representatives from the Otsego and Chenango County planning departments, State Police, the State DOT and Chobani.
