This is going to really tick Santa off.

Canadian writer Pamela McColl has written a "new" version of the classic "Twas The Night Before Christmas" that has been "cleansed" for political correctness.  The line in the 189-year old classic tale that bothers this writer has to do with Santa smoking.

She excised the line that reads: "The stump of his pipe he held tight in his teeth, and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath."  Not only has the line been omitted but the author has added this line to the title of her book:  "Edited by Santa Claus for the benefit of children of the 21st Century."

What do you think?  Is this an attempt to just deal with the problems of tobacco addiction and tobacco promotion to young people?  Or is this political correctness run amuck?

Let me know what you think......
