Police Road Blocks Continue From Overnight Situation In Oneonta
7/17 P.M. Update: After resolving an "incident" of unknown nature, New York State Police reopened State Route 7 in the town of Oneonta surrounding a residence at the bottom of Emmons Hill Road. According to a release, police say no injuries were sustained during the 23-hour situation and that more details regarding this will be released later today as the investigation continues.

New York State Police are reporting that roads are blocked on a section of Route 7 in the Town of Oneonta near the Farmhouse Diner and have been since around 7:00 pm last evening. Information from the current police report is sparse. Police only report that there is an "ongoing investigation in the town of Oneonta" and that the public is asked to avoid the area of State Route 7 near Emmons Hill Road. Rt 7 is blocked at I-88's exit 16 and Rt 7 is blocked from the Price Chopper parking lot all the way to Colliersville to prevent through traffic.
Police are saying there is no public threat but haven't released any other official information. Information on social media has been circulating but keep in mind that any information provided outside an official investigating agency is considered speculation.
