Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle in Delhi
Delaware County Sheriff’s officials are investigating an incident in which a pedestrian walking in the road in the Town of Delhi was hit by a vehicle over the weekend.
Authorities say 18-year-old Damyan Bonilla of Chester was hurt while walking on State Highway 10 near Falls Mills Road on the morning of April 2.
A 911 call informed officials a male was seen walking in the roadway followed by a second emergency call saying a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle in the vicinity of the first call.
Deputies and members of the Delhi Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services found Bonilla at the scene with injuries. He was taken to O’Connor Hospital and transferred to Bassett Medical Center for treatment. His condition has not been released.
Investigators determined the teen had been walking in a northerly direction in the southbound lane when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.

The Sheriff’s office says at this time no tickets have been issued to either Bonilla or the driver of the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police and SUNY Delhi University Police.
