Oneonta’s Jim Konstanty is Finalist for Philllies Wall of Fame!

I just heard from Oneonta resdient Helen Rees who told me that her father, Major League pitcher Jim Konstnaty, has been voted into the five top finalists for induction into the Philadelphia Phillies Wall of Fame this summer.  Jim was a long time pitcher for the Phillies and actually was the starter for them of Game 1 in their appearance in the 1950 World Series against the New York Yankees.  Later, of course, Jim and his wife owned a popular sporting goods store on Main Street Oneonta.

There is no announced date as of yet for the final choice of inductee for this summer.  The minute I hear I will pass it along to you.  Congrats to "Big Jim" and thank you all ofr voting!
