A this week’s Oneonta school district board meeting, parents addressed the school board with their concerns with some of the school busing problems that have arisen in the first week of this school year after the closing of Center Street Elementary.

Some parents complained their children are on the school buses for longer time periods than seem necessary.

Oneonta School District Superintendent David Rowley said that they will be trying something new to help elevate the school busing time issue.

“We shortened one of the high school, middle school runs so that bus can get to Valley View 15 minutes earlier,” Rowley said. “We worked to get another transferred bus on the road much sooner and get to the second school. Then we will assess how successful that was.”
