State Police at Oneonta arrested Zachary J. Boynton, 31, of Oneonta today for two incidences of driving while intoxicated in the same day.

The first incident was discovered after police were called to a minor accident in the parking lot of McDonald’s on State Route 23 in Oneonta shortly before 1 am. An investigation seemed to reveal that Boynton was intoxicated when he drove his car into the back of another car at the drive through. He was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Oneonta Court on March 25, 2014 and turned over to a sober third party.

Shortly after 5 am, troopers returned to the same McDonald’s for a report of a car striking the building and then leaving the scene. State Police located Mr. Boynton’s newly damaged car outside of his residence on Southside Drive and he was then arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Boynton was treated at AO Fox Hospital in Oneonta for injuries believed to have been sustained in the accident. He was then arraigned at the Town of Oneonta Court and released to a sober third party without bail required.
